After some time with the new ISP, I finally got a 10g switch and nics for my firewall and PC. During that time I also switched from Arista (Untangle) firewall to OPNsense. A while back Arista scaled back their offerings for homelab users and I knew I should chage firewall. However the learning curve on a new firewall is sometime vertical. So you got to pick one that has huge support and a large knowledge base. The choice was really PFsense or OPNsense. That’s like picking coke or pepsi.
Now Im on OPNsense, and slowly figuring it out. That means we are back. Wehoo.
